Come all you warriors and renowned nobles
\nGive ear unto my warlike theme
\nWhile I relate how brave Father Murphy
\nHe lately roused from his sleepy dream
\nSure Julius Caesar nor Alexander
\nNor brave King Arthur ever equalled him
\nFor armies formidable he did conquer
\nThough with two pikemen he did begin<\/p>\n

Camolin cavalry he did unhorse them
\nTheir first lieutenant he cut him down
\nWith shattered ranks and with broken columns
\nThey soon returned to Camolin town
\nAt the hill of Oulart he displayed his valour
\nWhere a hundred Corkmen lay on the plain
\nAt Enniscorthy his sword he wielded
\nAnd I hope to see him once more again<\/p>\n

When Enniscorthy became subject unto him
\nTwas then to Wexford we marched our men
\nAnd on the Three Rock took up our quarters
\nWaiting for daylight the town to win
\nThe loyal townsmen gave their assistance
\nWe will die or conquer they all did say
\nThe yeomen cavalry made no resistance,
\nFor on the pavement their corpses lay<\/p>\n

With drums a-beating the town did echo
\nAnd acclamations came from door to door
\nOn the Windmill Hill we pitched our tents then
\nWe drank like heroes but paid no score
\nOn Carraig Rua for some time we waited
\nAnd next to Gorey we did repair
\nAt Tubberneering we thought no harm
\nThe bloody army was waiting there<\/p>\n

The issue of it was a close engagement
\nWhile on the soldiers we played warlike pranks
\nThrough the sheepwalks, hedgerows and shady thickets
\nThere were mangled bodies and broken ranks
\nThe shuddering cavalry, I can’t forget them
\nWe raised the brushes on their helmets straight
\nThey turned about and made straight for Dublin
\nAs though they ran for a ten pound plate<\/p>\n

Now, some crossed Donnybrook and more through Blackrock
\nAnd some up Shankhill without wound or flaw
\nAnd if Barry Lawless be not a liar
\nThere was more went groaning up Luggela
\nTo the Windmill Hill of Enniscorthy,
\nThe British Fencibles they fled like deers
\nBut our ranks were tattered and sorely scattered
\nBy the loss o Kyan and his Shelamaliers<\/p>\n

The streets of England were left quite naked
\nOf all their army both foot and horse
\nThe Highlands Scotland were left unguarded
\nLikewise the Hessians the seas did cross
\nBut if the Frenchmen had reinforced us
\nAnd landed transports at Baginbun
\nFather John Murphy, he would be their seconder
\nAnd sixteen thousand with him would come<\/p>\n

Success attend you sweet County Wexford
\nThrew off the yoke and to battle run
\nLet them not think we gave up our arms
