A great crowd had gathered outside of Kilmainhem
\n With their heads all uncovered they knelt on the ground
\n For inside that grim prison lay a brave Irish soldier
\n His life for his country about to lay down.<\/p>\n

He went to his death like a true son of Ireland,
\n The fireing party he bravely did face.
\n Then the order rang out: “Present arms, Fire!”;
\n James Connolly fell into a ready made grave.<\/p>\n

The black flag they hoisted, the cruel deed was over,
\n Gone was the man who loved Ireland so well,
\n There was many a sad heart in Ireland that morning,
\n When they murdered James Connolly, the Irish rebel.<\/p>\n

God`s curse on you, England, you cruel hearted monster,
\n Your deeds would shame all the devils in Hell,
\n There were no flowers blooming but the Shamrock is growing
\n On the grave of James Connolly, the Irish rebel.<\/p>\n

Many years have rolled by since the Irish rebellion,
\n When the guns of Brittania they loudly did speak,
\n The bold I.R.A. battled shoulder to shoulder,
\n as the blood of their bodies flowed down Sackville Street.<\/p>\n

The Four Courts of Dublin, the English bombarded,
\n The spirit of freedom, they tried hard to quell
\n But above all the din rose the cry “No Surrender!”
