they whispered, &#8220;Lord Edward bled,<br \/>\nAnd the blood of hosts was in summer shed;<br \/>\nDeath in the autumn o&#8217;er Connacht passed,<br \/>\nBut the loss that is sorest came last, came last.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Though Fitzgerald died, sure we fought them still,<br \/>\nAnd we shouted Vengeance&#8217;
